Environmental Assessment
Preparation of the Environmental Assessment Report
The Environmental Assessment Report has been prepared in accordance with these Director General's requirements for environmental assessment and has been submitted to the Director-General of the Department of Planning for consideration. The Environmental Assessment Report has focussed on the key issues that are identified by the Department of Planning (DoP) and other agencies as important to evaluate the proposal, including potential social, economic or environmental impacts.
Pamada have taken time in preparing the Environmental Assessment Report for reasons of thoroughness and attention to detail on environmental areas that required prolonged observation. The report has been written by Pamada and HDB Town Planning, specialist environmental consultants and in consultation with community, government bodies and utilities such as the Department of Planning, Department of Environment and Climate Change, the Upper Hunter Shire Council and Energy Australia.
During the investigation and assessment period Pamada consulted directly with the community stakeholders, landholders, local residents, government departments and authorities, Indigenous groups and others as part of the planning and design investigation impacts on local groups and environment. Specialist consultants in the field of Noise, Visual Planning, Ecology, Heritage and Archaeology, Bushfire and others were used to determine overall impacts, constraints and the final design of the Park.
Pamada have endeavoured to reach as much of the community as possible in the locality during the assessment period. In addition a Community Open Day was held in February 2008 with feedback from the day used in the assessment report.
